Maurizio Sarri chose to quit Chelsea partly due to the way he was treated by a section of the support.

The Sun says he reached breaking point when Chelsea fans chanted "Sarri out" and "f*** Sarri-ball" during the win over Cardiff in March.

The Italian, 60, will return to his homeland with Juventus after just one season in London.

While there are several reasons behind his escape, the final straw was the barracking from the stands in the Welsh capital.

Travelling fans made their feelings brutally clear after watching their side fall behind to a Victor Camarasa strike - ramping up their anti-Sarri protests.

Despite eventually winning on the day, the damage was already done with the under-fire boss struggling to win over fans, the dressing room and receiving little backing from club chiefs.
