A former governor of Bauchi state, Muhammed Abubakar, has reacted to the ruling of the state's governorship election tribunal on Tuesday, October 8.

Abubakar shortly after the ruling said he is rest assured that his mandate to become the governor of Bauchi state will be reclaimed.

The former governor in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Ali Muhammad said: “We are appealing the judgment. Already our lawyers have been instructed to file an appeal after studying it.”

It has been reported earlier that the former governor together with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi state have said that they will appeal the judgement of the tribunal on the election results.

Speaking on the judgement, the APC chairman for Bauchi state chapter, Uba Nana, called on all members of the party and supporters of Abubakar to remain calm and law-abiding.
